Word of the Trimester:"Blech!"

As seen through Father Troy/Daddy Dougie's eyes:

YES!! We've recently made it past one of 3 finish lines in the pregnancy process. This first trimester was quite an experience--for both She & I. From the beginning, I was more scared about the first trimester than any of the others. A lotta people felt free to give their perspective (which was greatly appreciated), but I guess I was trying to fight off the bad case of "Info Overload." Plus, all of that reading of What To Expect When You're Expecting and articles all over the internet, there was one main thing I was terrified of: morning sickness!:-0 Yes, folks, I'm an emetophobic. I'm very scared of vomit, the act of vomiting and everything in between. So I was praying to God that the first trimester--or any at that--would not involve any regurgitation whatsoever, or at least keep it to bare minimum. Thankfully, the prayers were answered :-). However, I (and we) did get to experience the whole I-liked-eatin'-that-before-but-don't-you-dare-cook-me-that-now situation! Me, tryin' to be Mr. Ideal Daddy-to-Be would ask "Mommy, what do you want to eat?" and of course she would say, "I dunno." And in turn I would say "Well, how about (insert dish you just looved to eat before here)?" And she would say..."BLECH!" Yeah, you know, that infamous sound of disgust. Needless to say, that's when we started eating out more--at her choice! Her first addictive restaurant of choice was Mi Pueblo...chips and salsa by the crates! I thought it was cute and wasn't dare gonna say otherwise. She would sometimes feel bad because of me having to constantly accomodate, but it doesn't come close to the physical, mental, and emotional changes she's had to bear with carrying a child! And she wasn't (and isn't) the only one going through the changes! My main thing is trying to stay awake being anywhere near Baby T! I can stay awake longer than most at any given night, but Baby T puts me to sleep every time! Let's just say I highly value naptime these days :-)...and I'm sure Mommy and myself will enjoy them once Baby T makes it's debut. For those who don't know, we speak of the baby by using the term Baby T for two reasons: 1. we won't know the sex of the baby until April and 2. whether it's a boy or a girl, it's first name will start with a T.
Boy: Troy Douglas Harris III
Girl: Trystan Elle Harris
I'm sure one of the names is obvious of how we came up with it...maybe both:-p. Don't worry, the 12-week baby footage is coming soon. Step one of putting it on DVD is already complete. The hospital told us to bring a VCR to the last doctor visit. And seriously, who still has a VCR that they regularly use!?!?! So once I get it from filmstrip to youtube, it'll be worth the wait!(LOL)
